Important: Our replacement key service is exclusively available for bicycle and motorcycle locks. For keys used for home security (e.g. doors, windows or padlocks), please contact an authorized dealer.
Which situation applies to you?
Key code available
Perfect – this is the easiest case:
- You can order your replacement key directly from our shop.
- For Mobile Security products, the key code is sufficient.
- A photo of the code card is not required.
Reference key available (but no code)
Step 1: Check the key for a code
- Take a close look at your key. For some types, the key code is engraved directly on the key.
Step 2: No code available?

No key code and no reference key available
Step 1: Check your documents
- The key code is not printed on the lock.
- Therefore, check:
- The documents that came with your bicycle
- For e-bikes: The dealer can often retrieve the code via the display.
Common misconceptions
- An imprint such as “ABUS D-58292 Wetter” is not a key code.
- This is the postal code of the ABUS location.
- The key code is never printed directly on the lock. Doing so would pose a significant security risk and is therefore not used by ABUS.
Can't find any information?
- Unfortunately, in this case the only remaining option is to replace the lock.
